New professional grade Winkler American Winkler [Walnut · Horde Highland Axe] This design is a Winkler Knives interpretation of Daniel Winkler's hand forged original parts. Master craftsman Daniel Winkler became a full-time gripper manufacturer in 1988. The utilitarian nature of his forged works is the foundation of his early relationship with American level 1 warriors and the origins of the Winkler Knives. The purpose of the company's establishment is to produce cutting edge tools that possess all the attributes of Daniel Winkler's forged works. The subtle differences in functionality, such as the heat treatment of the tapered shank and the grinding blade, are equivalent to the tools created by Winkler using the heat of fire and the power of a hammer.
Daniel Winkler specializes in forging tongs and axes made according to American border traditions - in that era, the tools people carried meant livelihood and survival. The traditional essence of his works is evident in the design of Winkler Knives, but even more so in the new Highland Hatchet and Highland Hunter.
