Upon its release, the Emerson/Pro Tech CQC7 won the Best Collaboration Award at the PKA (Professional Knife Maker's Association) exhibition in Denver, Colorado. The tool features a 154-CM steel forged blade, with one side of the blade treated with a flat grinding technique and the other side completely horizontal with only a very fine cutting edge. This blade and highly penetrating geometric tip make it excellent for both cutting and piercing, even for heavy cutting tasks. The Emerson and Ultra Tech brand logos are printed on both sides of the blade, and there is a raised thumb groove near the root of the blade back, allowing users to better grip the tool.
